Just Horsing Around...

Paula was discussing the type of medicine her dad has to take, you know, the "equestrian" medicine?

(Apparently, he is taking questran, so at least she was close!)

News Flash!

We interrupt this blog for an important announcement...

There have been NO NEW Paulaisms to report in the past 24 hours. We repeat...(just read it again so I don't have to type it over. But wait, wouldn't it have been easier to just type it over rather than type all of this? Sheesh!)

...we now return you to your regular blog.

Getting the power all the way there...

Paula is slightly technologically challenged. Like today, when she complained that the laptop computer kept turning off a few moments after booting up. I asked her if it was plugged in, and she said "Yes, I'm not stupid!"

I have now learned that I must not assume. Yes, the laptop was plugged in. But I forgot to mention step two: When plugged into a switched outlet, make sure the switch is on. Again, looks like it is my fault.

Robbing the cradle??

Seems the neighbor had noticed that our van had been gone, and wondered it Paula were sick. I told her no, that the van had been sick and was getting repaired. Paula went over to talk to her. The neighbor mentioned that she had not seen Paula or her husband lately, but had seen our son around some.

Thing is, our son is in Missouri. The person she had been seeing was me. Oops!

How much is that nugget in the window?

Okay, I have a dilemma. I really want to post the McNugget story, but Paula says no. So I will not post the McNugget story. (However, it is firmly etched in my memory, so you can always ask me about it.)
In lieu of the McNugget story, I have found this delightful video to entertain you. Enjoy!

She fell for it!

Paula was mighty pleased with herself as she exclaimed, "I am the dog whisperer!" She proceded to tell me how she had gotten Peanut to listen to her about staying, and then going out the door.

I told her to come over to me because I had something to tell her. She came over and put her ear to my lips. I said, "I am the wife whisperer!"

Yes, It Happened This Way...

Paula: I can help you mow the grass, let me get my shoes.
Don: Sure, thanks.

A few minutes later...
Don: Here you go. Thanks again.
Paula pulls upper bar of mower and starts it, then begins to push.
Don: (Yelling) YOU MIGHT WANT TO PULL THE LOWER BAR!!
Paula: (Stops mower) What?
Don: You might want to pull the lower bar.
Paula: Like this? (Pulls upper and lower bar and goes to start mower)
Don: No! After you start the mower, then pull the lower bar.
Paula: (Starts mower, yells) THIS IS MUCH EASIER!
Don: (Yelling) HAVEN'T I TOLD YOU THIS BEFORE, IT'S A SELF-PROPELLED MOWER!
Paula: (Yelling) YES, BUT THAT WAS LAST YEAR!

Yes, it happened this way.

Another Paulaism

I was reading my Bible on the computer. I happened to be in the book of Proverbs. You know, where it talks about the qualities of a righteous woman. She looked at it and said something like this, "Oh, are you writing a poem about me?" Sometimes I wonder how that head fits through the door!

She Said It

The cable guys were at the house Saturday to install all the needed wires. Where each TV was to be there were cardboard boxes with wires coming out going to the walls. Paula knew that we were getting new "boxes" with this cable company (can you see where this is going yet?), so she asked, "Are those the boxes they are going to leave?" I had to explain to her that those were the boxes that they were pulling the new wires out of. Stay tuned for more!
